Gull Cottage

Painting at Gull Cottage on a warm day, the incoming tide bringing a welcome breeze. Iā€™d added the final coat to the front door - sea air ages paintwork considerably, and I noticed the garden bench looked very weathered - it was about to be upstaged by the newly painted door.

Fortunately my client noticed the bench, so I went to find a solution. It was an important feature in this little seaside garden, reserved for morning coffee and Molly the rescue cat.

I chose the deepest, darkest blue, to sit perfectly against the warm neutral masonry, and beside the very confident red door.

Front Door: Blazer

Bench: Railings

Both Exterior Eggshell from Farrow & Ball
